This was our debut project, in which our resolve, working model and perseverance were all put to test. We succeeded on all counts. 2004 - 2015 were the 12 long years where we held tenaciously to our cause. We were able established a reasonable client and donor base and were able to earn reputation and their confidence.
In 2011, a philanthropist Mr. Haji Haroon Gazdar expressed his wish to setup a charitable eye clinic to serve the underprivileged in the local low lying area of the city, called Gazdarabad. He donated his private property for it and provided funding for the cause. Vision Trust was requested to help set it up and get it going.
Vision Trust happily agreed to comply the said request and provided the services free of cost for the noble cause, the funding was to be provided by Haji Haroon. Thus came into existence Mehrunisa Eye Clinic in 2012 situated at Gazdarabad, main Jubilee Roundabout, Ranchor Lines, Karachi-Pakistan. It was set up and managed by Vision Trust up until mid 2014,.
At this point in time and after successful completion of its contractual 3 years obligations, transferred the management as per mutually agreed terms to its lawful owners.
The clinic is running as of date on the lines drawn by Vision Trust. Thousands of underprivileged of the locality have benefitted and continue to do so to date.
Khairun'nisa Eye Hospital is a project of K&N’s Foundation. We are committed here to the provision of Quality Eye Care on a charitable, non-profit basis, without any discrimination of color caste, or creed, and especially focus on those who have a financial barrier to access such services.
The concept of school health service is s based on the same principle albeit it deals with many disciplines of healthcare.
We have narrowed down our initial scope to eye care only for the time being.
We hope to be able to widen this to include other disciplines in near future like hearing, oro-dental hygiene, malnutrition and allergies etc.
We are proud to state that from January 2021, we have started a one-year internship program. The central theme of this program is to empower, build capacity and give more and more hands on exposure and skill development opportunities to fresh graduates in the science of optometry.
